Caroline Coats Chapman
"Little Britannia was my fourth of 10 children and my third girl.
I can always remember each of my babies' births... they are all different, you know.
But she was special and I guess she will always be that way in my mind".
It was Christmas and Caroline told of the excitement of the children
as they prepared to decorate their Christmas tree with cranberries, bits of fabric, and popcorn kernels.
"That's what we were doing the night we lost Britannia."
On December 24, 1859, Britannia choked on popcorn and died.
She was three years old at the time.
