Pendean Farmhouse from Midhurst, West Sussex, was built in 1609. It has no open hall, but a brick chimney heats some of the rooms. This big change in house design took place in the mid-16th century, but Pendean also has some medieval features such as unglazed windows.
The interior has been furnished with replica items to give an idea of the way it was originally used. The oak furniture and textiles have all been based on 16th and 17th-century originals.
