Downy Woodpecker (Picoides pubescens) - Juvenile NOTE: Position of red cap is over and forward of eye, where in adult male it is on back of head well behind eye. Of all the bird guides (hardcopy or electronic) I have, Only The Sibley Guide to Birds points this out.
