Kind of surreal. There are competing lines of interest: the shoreline, the rings above the water, the tops and bottoms, and the hard-to-find water surface. Very nice.

I think I prefer this version (because in color I prefer the other shot anyhow), the black and white definitely adds drama, and distinguishes it from the other.

Oh bugger now I am not sure! But I will stick with this version as I feel it is a bit more dramatic.

Mmh... they are two different photos, both very appealing, but I prefer the colour version because I like these delicate blues and greens. Not sure about the new framing, I found that the sky balanced quite well the huge reflect of the moorings. Matter of taste of course.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I have resubmitted a cropped b&w version to see what you all think is a better version. The cropped colour version is in the originals gallery.

I like this a lot, Dennis, and also the B&W version that you posted. I tried Colin's crop and he might have a point - it seems more dynamic with less sky. But it's still very special as is. --Stefan

This is really good!
I hope you don't mind me saying, but if you cropped about half the sky off the top above the pliiars it becomes even more striking

I like very much this composition, with these strong lines drawn by the oorings and the shore behind them. I think that light is perfect too, to the point that it is difficult to say where actually starts the reflect.

I like this one a lot too. It has less content, so there's more emphasis on the vertical element and the tie rings and less on the awe-inspiring expanse of water and sky.
