Molten

Achnahaird Bay, Inverpolly, Scotland

It took a good while for me to work out what it was that attracted me to this little beach and in the end I think I got there. The small dark stones have the appearance of molten glass beads rolling and chattering to each other as they are bowled over by the tide giving them a soaking and rendering each one as shiny as a new pin. The bright white sky above rimlit the edges of each pebble with a crescent of gleaming white but out of shot and behind the beach are high ledges of black rock and they threw an equal and opposite black shadow on the other side thereby accentuating the glossy appearance of the pebbles.
