Where we Walked

Here is a reminder of how far we came: Barenjoey Point to Bass & Flinders Point. Time estimates
are based on the exif data from the first and last photographs for each stage rounded up to the
nearest half hour.

Stage 1: 21st August 2008, Barenjoey Point to Whale Beach ............... 3.0 hours
Stage 2: 26th September 2008, Whale Beach to Mona Vale Beach .... 4.5 hours

Stage 3: 1st May 2009, Mona Vale Beach to Long Reef ......................... 3.0 hours
Srage 4: 29th May 2009, Long Reef to Manly ............................................ 4.5 hours
Stage 5: 3rd July 2009, Manly via North Head to Fairlight ...................... 5.0 hours
Stage 6: 24th July 2009, Fairlight to The Spit ............................................. 4.5 hours
Stage 7: 10th September 2009, The Spit to Taronga Park ..................... 5.0 hours

That's a total of 78.5 hours walking. Allowing for brief photographic pauses and short rests here
and there, I estimate our average speed at approximately 2.5 kms per hour. On that basis and
other evidence, the total distance covered comes out at 196 kilometres. From start to finish the
project covered a period of two years and eight months. The final record includes 1041 published
maps and photographs.
