Capturing the emotion of the day. I was part of the Race for the Cure last Saturday to fight Breast Cancer. A lot of emotion at these things.
The picture here is of a survivor caught between sadness and joy. I fully understand as I, myself, am a breast cancer survivor. The race was a great success and I was running this year for a Pbase friend, Chris Hadden, who was diagnosed last year and has been going through treatment. Our running to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer is for people like Chris. None of us who have survived ever want another woman or man to be diagnosed with cancer of any kind.
I pray one day there is a cure. Until then, I'll keep on running and keep on fighting. I'm 6 years out now cancer free and loving life like I never have before. I call it my blessing as it made a better person out of me and helped me to become stronger. I have always refused to be a cry baby or have my own little pity party as that doesn't help. Staying positive does help and doing everything in your power to help others it what counts.
