A male Coopers Hawk, perched at the same spot for over 30 minutes, checks out some noisy chickadees overhead. It was not shy at all offering great views from above, at eye-level and from below. Although the male looked big up close, the female is much larger. One time both were perched side by side and the difference between the two was very obvious.

The above location is just one of four that I know of where there are breeding Coopers Hawks.
