Bury St Edmunds Abbey Great Gate is an impressive 14th century stone gatehouse of the Benedictine abbey and was designed to be the gateway for the Great Courtyard. One of the best surviving examples of its type, this two storey gate-hall is entered through a single archway which retains its portcullis.
A lighthouse-shaped street sign commonly known as the "Pillar of Salt". Built in 1935, and now a listed monument, it is thought to be the Country's first internally illuminated street sign
