I did try it darker, but it didn't 'read' well, at least to my eye. I may try again from the original and see if I have better luck

Enchanted an surreal, and all this aetherial glow also gives some appearence of a forest fire.

It has an enchanted quality. Not so much gloomy as surreal and almost enticing. But the serpentine twist adds a menacing note. Really like the lines and textures.

I can see what you are talking about Shirley,, A bit more dark would be interesting,, a "Lord of the Rings" type of tree,,

I think I'd like this if it were a bit more dark and forboding. I love that thick vine twisting around the tree like a python.

yes, very surreal treatment and those trees definitely are menacing
