Ah! Morning in hell. This is Centralia a ghost town in the making. I think there are two families still living there. Why they are still there, I haven’t a clue. If you don’t know about Centralia, it is burning from an unstoppable mine fire below. In started in the 1960s and many attempts have been make to extinguish it, to no avail. In fact they're not sure of the fires perimeter. It is about twenty miles from my home, and it sure is a dramatic place to shoot pictures. Which is why I’m drawn there. There is a primal beauty there that is unlike anything else.
