Quebec Manor (1912) - a rare example of caryatids in Vancouver

101 East 7th Avenue, Vancouver

Architects: Townsend & Townsend

"Two immodest female figures energetically support the heavy pediment that forms the frontispiece of this marvellous 4-storey apartment building.
Originally the Mt Stephen Apartments, it features diamond-patterned red and yellow brickwork, a heavy, bracketed cornice,
wrought-iron balconies, and a tiled entrance hall with an elaborate, double-height, wooden baroque screen acting as an inner door."

From "Exploring Vancouver. The essential architectural guide" by Harold Kalman, Ron Phillips and Robin Ward
