The White Water River is created from the snow melt of the San Bernardino Mountains. Prior to the pumping of Colorado River water into it it would recede to a large expanse of a dry wash and then after the snow melt it would become a river of varying sizes. The area is covered with rocks that have rounded as they tumbled from an elevation of anywhere up to 11000 ft approximately to just above sea level. The rocks at the base of this plant (plant unknown) are granite.
