The female cardinal pictured above appeared lethargic in its behaviour leading me to wonder if it was doing OK. There are a number of diseases birds can pick up at feeder stations. As well, birds that are sick may be drawn to feeders because it is an easy source of food. When I left it, the bird seemed more responsive and alert than when I first arrived.
