This image, to number 8404, were taken on the tripod with the D700 in VERY poor light at iso 5000/F4 and high speed (1/800s). Tried to take these with the D300/500mm but its iso capacity was not sufficient to increase the speed, stop the fast birds and focus accuately. THE D700 WON DE DAY AND THE 200-400 ENABLED ME TO ENLARGE THE VIEW TO CATCH THE FLYING BIRDS AT 250 TO 400MM. THE 500MM COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS.
