LOWELL, MASS., MONDAY, JUNE 6, 1881.
The Walworth Manufacturing company
has purchased the property in South Boston,
on the northern shore, known as the "Boston
Crystal Glass Works," and will immediately
commence alteration and improvements.
New buildings will be added, the
principal one o f which will be 400 feet long
by 60 feet wide. The company expect to remove
its manufacturing business from t he
premises in Cambridgeport, which it has occupied
for nearly twenty years, early next
spring. The n ew work will comprise extensive
iron and brass foundries, machine shops,
forge shops and other buildings, and will furnish
employment for 400 workmen, tbe number
at present employed at Cambridgeport.
