The Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) Lower Strut. At room temperature the Strut declines towards the External Tank (ET). Once super cold liquid propellant starts filling the ET ("tanking"), the ET shrinks several inches and the Strut then inclines towards the ET. This shrinking was accommodated for in the Strut's design.
