Had to meet the Channel 8 news team to be interviewed this morning. They were running late and were filming this rally so I went with the camera man to get some pics. The rally was about a young man who was killed by police after he rolled his window up on the officer's arm and started driving with the officer being dragged alongside. The officer shot him and the family was upset with this as the young man's 3 kids were in the car at the time. They were claiming police brutality.
Of course, everyone thought I was with the newspaper since I was with the news team. The reason I was there was that I found a lot of recent court documents strewn all over the area by the old rock house which sits behind this building in the picture. I was on a photoshoot and noticed the papers everywhere. On closer inspection I saw they were criminal records with all kinds of personal info on them.
I called the courthouse first and they didn't seem too alarmed and so I called the news. Channel 8 returned my call this morning and interviewed me. All of the documents came from one attorney. There were numerous individual records. Too many to count with names, addresses, birthdates, drivers license numbers and pictures as well as the criminal arrests. Not something that should be just tossed out just to be found by people whose business it is not. Kinda scary.
My interview was not on TV tonight but probably will be in the next couple of days. The news is investigating this and will get back with me.
