Skagit Valley, Washington

Snow Geese!
Wow, what a great day it was today! On just a whim I once again headed back up to the Skagit Valley hoping to see some of the elusive snow geese. For those of you not living in our area, we've been in the midst of several snow storms, and to find snow geese in snow is really special, especially this year when the flocks have not been around as usual. I stood in freezing rain photographing a relatively small flock (about 1,000 birds) and loving every minute of it. The only thing better would have to had Bob and Terry there with me. I predict that as we head toward Spring, and the fields begin to turn green we'll see more and more of the traditionally very large flocks once again back in the fields. I can hardly wait!

I bet this would make a fantastic print. I hope your dreams of fields of snow geese come true.

Great job, Jim - Its exciting to see them back! Was this a b&w
conversion, or is it full color? I'm guessing full color :)
Hopefully Bob and I can join you as things green up!

WOW, hard to choose between your monochrome birds and Terry's more colourful flock. Andrea
