This is what London will look like in 3011, or right now, after a dose of lysergic acid. I like this!

I'm not being difficult, but it looks the same to me. I love it...especially the green Thames. BTW, shooting through the glass is VERY difficult, I also give props for this. Traveller

not havng the images to view side by side giving a an accurate critique is difficult. i think you have done somthing to this image since it does not look quite as vivid as the last time i viewed it. sometimes just a slight adjustment is all that it takes to bring an image to its full potential. either way, it still remains a beautiful and interesting shot, imo. shu

i have the topaz filters but don't use them often since i tend to be a bit heavy-handed. i usually prefer to do all my enhancements in PS and check into topaz to see if any of the filters wiill be of any use to the final result.

I forgot to answer your question about Topaz. It's a suite of Photoshop plugins. The one I use the most is Topaz Adjust. It has a bunch of fun presets, and the ability to adjust them to your heart's content. This shot used the preset "spicify". Here's the Topaz website:

I've put a version with the sky partially desaturated in pending. I think I prefer the original, but I'd be interested to hear what others think.

Well, I thought that crazy was the point....lol...Exaggerated intense colors, other worldly...however, what is Topaz? Best Wishes, Traveller (though I supposed I wouldn't mind seeing two versions)

Thanks for the comments everyone. Shu, I'll try your desaturating (perhaps only the sky) suggestion.
Best wishes

great topaz work! if you don't mind just one suggestion....try to tone down the image just a bit w a slight desat. the colors are beautiful but i think the sky is just a bit too intense! hope you don't mind the critique. shu

I do like the "artistic" effect of Topaz (so far unknown to me; I've justed looked it up). It turnes, though, the photograph that could have told a "real" story (of your stay in London and about your ride on the "London Eye") into a phantasy (like Lucy's when *she* was In The Sky With Diamonds ;-)) That is, BTW, not at all a criticism of mine--beware!--just a expression of surprise how easy it is sometimes to cross the line from report to art. Once I accept it as the latter, I find this most fabulous imagery, Alistair! (I apologize for looking at it from a journalistic POV; that's my problem, not yours, is it not?) -- db.

Very nice, Alastair! Topaz works really well in this, it is wonderfully dramatic! ~Sharon

I like this...it is weird, but very effective. Interesting, a different world almost. Traveller
