Truly, all the skies seemed to me to be Apocalyptic...and the skies and what they meant to humans seemed particularly interesting in this light
Many battles were fought here in the valley that is the best way to the Pass that leads to the coast road between Mesopotamia and Egypt...if you were here, you would understand why so many wars have been won and lost exactly here.
Interestingly, the first battle in all of history that we have maybe moderately accurate writings on occurred here in 1457 BC, between Pharaoh Thutmose III of Egypt and Canaanite coalition under the king of Kadesh.
The most recent was in 1918 as the Last Battle against the Ottoman Empire and was won by General Allenby. The battle opened with an attack by...T. E. Lawrence, who else? The battle, as with the Canaanite battle some 3,500 years before was a slaughter and the Ottoman Empire was ended here as were the Canaanite Kingdoms.
