Late 1940's/early 1950's - closeup of Eastern Air Lines mechanics and a DC-3 at Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport, Florida

Thank you to Brian Rueger for contributing this great old image. Brian says the photo was in his dad's (Raymond Rueger) collection. Raymond Rueger (2nd from the left of the painted center line) was hired by Eastern Air Lines in 1948 and he was a GI Bill graduate from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 1947 or so. He moved to Miami in 1948 and lived with a family in Miami Springs until his wife came down and they built a home in Hialeah.

Bruce Gower wrote in to say that he recognized his dad William "Bill" Carroll Gower in the photo. He is in the first row kneeling down, 10th from the left, wearing a hat and darker colored shirt.
