Bachi on the balcony at our room at the winery, we really enjoyed our stay here. Bachi fell in love with a small Ben Franklin stove that Mr Cowie had, and we wound up buying it and bringing it back to Louisiana.
Robert Cowie began making wine in 1955. In 1970 he began construction of the current winery at what was the site of St Ann school in Carbon City Arkansas. The Arkansas Historic Wine Museum is also housed there. Inside the winery museum, you will see how wine making has progressed. You will also see the many barrels with paintings by Betty Kay Cowie. There is also a wine tasting area just outside of the office.
If you have time, enjoy an overnight stay at the bed and breakfast. There are two rooms provided. It is a very quiet place.
