Tsukiji Fish Market Tokyo.
This was another early riser for us. Wake-up call at 4.00am. First train (5.00am) on the Oedo Subway Line from Shinjuku to Tsukijishigo station.
The Tsukiji market is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. A inner market where they auction starts at 5.20am and the outer market houses some 900 different stalls. We could not get into the auction area as there is a limited numbers of visitors daily (120). I understand visitors start queing up as early as 3 or 4 am for a chance to experience the auction. Nevertheless, the outer market was brimming with activities by 5.30am.
