Selskar chuch - which is at the Westgate of Old Wexford - alongside the famous Selskar abbey - where Henry 11 did penance apparently for murder of Thomas A Beckett . Being a King - a few meaninless words got him off the hook - others are not so lucky . Anyway the Abbey Ruins which date from 1160 are not availble . They are a great tourist attrction - if one can get past the locked gates - but maybe there are easier ways of making money now days than devoloping Tourism - which might be hard work . Loooking around Wexford - at the huge amount of ancinet Historical sites [ and people ]- surely they deserve better treatment than to be over grown with weeds .
