This Taoist temple is dedicated to Madam Xian 冼珍太夫人 (512—602) a leader of the Nan Yue Tribe 南越族.
She mediated peace between her people and the Han Chinese while serving the government of 3 dynasties, 南梁, 陳 & 隋. She is also considered a heroine of Hainan Island 海南, where many Malaysian Chinese originated from.
Here in multi-cultural Malaysia, she is celebrated for promoting harmony between ethnic groups.
