Boxing has a long history in Cape Breton; many will remember names such as Blair Richardson; Tyrone Gardiner and Rocky MacDougall as well as many others.
In the fall of 2010, local author, Paul MacDougall released his book, "Distinction Earned".
His book provides a very in-depth view of boxing in Cape Breton utilizing information from the fans, trainers, cut-men, historical recordings and the boxers.
It is certainly a must read for boxing enthusiast or those that have an interest in Cape Breton history.
