Baba Leadlighting to Caravan

Have you heard the story of this leadlight window. It is a long one and I do not have all the details at hand but I can tell you in rough abbreviated terms as my wife at the time Jasmine and I were a small part of the story. The window was made by an English Baba lover Karen Kaye and when the leadlight teacher fired the piece for Baba's face it was overheated and the teacher thought that it would have been destroyed. However it was not - there was just a small tear below the left eye. The lass finished the window and took it to India to donate to the trust. The resident Mandali hunted about for a suitable place to display it and found it was a perfect size for the small horse drawn caravan at Meherazad and there it was installed. End of story - not yet that was just part 1. Part 2 The leadlight teacher took a trip to USA and hired a car. He stopped and obtained a take away coffee and placed his wallet and coffee on top of his car roof. He remembered his coffee but left his wallet which was lost as he drove off. He contacted the hire car company and reported the wallet as lost. They told him a lady had found it and he could go and pick it up at her house. When he arrived he was amazed to find that the lady who had made the Baba leadlight window was the lady who had found his wallet. She had in the interim migrated to USA. Part 3 the leadlight teacher who did not follow Baba due to the wallet experience decided to visit Ahmednagar and Meherabad and Meherazad on a trip to India and to introduce himself and tell the story of the wallet. His trip was uneventful but as an avid photographer he took some super 8 film video recordings. When he returned to England and processed the film he found that whenever the camera had been pointed at the Samadi or at Babas chair it was as though a great light had entered the camera and the film was overexposed but just at that time while it was pointed at the Samadi or Babas chair. He had the camera checked and multiple service agents found nothing wrong with the camera. Now he thought there is something special about this person Baba and he made another trip to India and told his story and became a Baba lover. Part 4. This is where Jasmine and I heard the story of the window. Some boys playing soccer had broken the leadlight window. When Meheru had visited Australia and stayed in our house in Melbourne she had been impressed with Jasmines leadlight ability and so we were invited to come to India and fix the Window. I had taken some previous photos and was able to match and source the glass and Jasmine and I went to India for a week with our specialist equipment and special glass to remove fix and replace the famous leadlight window. This time we glazed it on the outside with laminated safety glass to prevent future breakages. It was such a privilege to be a small part of this story. And also to hear how our beloved Baba draws those he wants into his fold. Meeting their needs before they know they have them. Jai Baba
