Testing Papers and Toning

Mt. Pleasant SC

Contact printiing 8x8 and 8x10 negatives.

Playing with papers and sensitizers. Fighting with humidity variables,
ultraviolet light sources, and other unpredictables. And wondering
why platinum, palladium and silver is so expensive, not to mention good paper ...

Leica D-Lux 4

I share the same questions, and they are more accessible in your part of the world. Trying to build up a stock of silver nitrate............sometimes finding other sources cuts costs.......would love to know any alternative places one might source silver nitrate. I want to do tintypes and wet plates so need to mix my own colodion. love the backwards journey.........slows everything down........and I dont mind that

Nicely done. I too am doing contact prints in Platinum/Palladium (notice no comma
there...LOL) and Kallitypes (same procedure) and albumen and salt prints and...well.

Just purchased a UV light light unit with vacuum. Initially got one with 1 strong light
source and a design that spreads light evenly because I am also doing copper plate based
photogravure and this way I can use a stochastic screen instead of using aquatint and rosin. Then, I also acquired another one with various UV lamps.

Looking forward to seeing your work. Mine can be seen here:
