The photograph is of some branches of a Eucalypt (Gum) tree that is growing along the (then drought stricken) Murray River in Victoria. Gum trees often have contorted branches and this one has a branch that turns full circle. I have no idea if it is natural or by intervention.
I have done a small series of images of this photograph, experimenting with varied B&W conversions/filters. Gum trees because of their colour and shape lend themselves well to such conversions. Although sometimes there seems to be a lack of distinct edge definition on branches and trunks.
I guess the object is to catch the atmosphere of the bush and gum trees. I find it hard to capture the mood properly.
This is the initial photograph pretty much out of the camera. Not very exciting I will admit.
