The last train pulled out of Lenore in 1978.

Lenore, Kenton, Bradwardine and Harding Manitoba all saw their last trains on the same day. In the same year, the CP Varcoe Subdivision which ran through Wellwood, Brookdale, Oberon, Varcoe, and Rapid City, as well as the CN Neepawa Subdivision From Neepawa to McCreary were all closed and subsequently pulled up.
