An echidna is an egg-laying mammal, toothless but with a long tongue which is used to 'scoop up' its favourite food, ants and termites. This shy little fellow was on the walking track and kept borrowing into the sand trying to hide its head. Eventually it 'waddled' off into the bush continuing its search for food.
