Beechwood cemetery. Not that we don't have friendless women (and men) in our society, but we are not quite so blunt about it. I wonder which is best, to disguise the fact under euphemisms or confront it head on. I don't know how old this headstone is, but it must date from the early years of the 20th century or the latter years of the 19th, as it is in an area of the cemetery where all the graves are very old indeed. I am also curious as to who would have put the wreaths on this and on the two in the previous image.
