This image is captivating, reminiscent of renaissance landscapes. The more I looked at it the more I wondered just exactly what was making it so. And then the contradiction in the light hit me. Clearly the sun is going down on the west as indicated by the shadows in the fields and the highlights on the people, but what or how is the inside right side of the arch being lit? It also looks like the light from the setting sun clearly an impossibility. As the kids would say, "What's up with that."
