Vistafjord

New York City

Norwegian American Line's Vistafjord (1972) was arguably one of the most elegant cruise ships afloat for many years.
She was the last ocean liner or cruise ship built in the UK. Although she was a purpose-built ocean liner,
her maiden voyage was the first and last transatlantic crossing she made in that capacity. After that she was used
exclusively as a cruise ship.

In 1983 Cunard bought ailing NAL. Vistafjord kept her name and her crew but was given a black and red Cunard funnel.
In 1999 Cunard got nostalgic and renamed her Caronia, repainting her hull black. In 2004 she was sold to Saga and rejoined
her former fleetmate Sagafjord, which was now sailing as Saga Rose. Caronia became Saga Ruby.
