This weekend we went to the Foxfire Museum in Mountain City Georgia. Foxfire began in the 60s as a way to celebrate the heritage and culture of the Southern Appalachian people as well as a way to engage high school students in literature and journalism. It was highly successful and is worth a quick stroll through the information on the web. This first house, built in the 1820s, measures approx 21 feet X 21 feet and was inhabited by 4 generations of the same family. This is the view from the fireplace in the only room in the cabin.
