I added some vintage type digital work to this photo of the rest station at Newburgh Lake in Livonia, Michigan. It is just off of Edward Hines Drive near Newburgh road in the Hines Park area. For many years on Sunday afternoons a seasoned Detroit musician who was nicknamed "The Mayor" would bring a chair and sit in the back and either talk about the Detroit music scene or play his guitar. Many other local musicians would stop by to talk or jam with him. Once while I was resting there from a bike ride actor Jeff Daniels stopped by with his Harmonica and Fendor amp and joined in a session of cover songs. Jeff Daniels is a good harmonica player! I heard that other notable local musicians stopped by to see him. A couple of them had periods of huge success but I don't know if that was true. The Mayor recently passed away and I just thought I would post this picture.
