Chackbay, Louisiana's Little Church in the Woods

Chackbay, Louisiana

Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike damaged this church in 2005 and 2008. It could have been saved as late as last year, but no one was able to do anything because everyone had houses in similar situations.

As of Aprill 2011 this church is no longer standing. A patch of bad weather finally brought it down.

I'm sure someone cared. Fortunately, God's house can be anywhere we need it to be. You know, I hate to see any old structure fall to ruin like this, although it is quite interesting how it caving in. Very nice find for us!

A nice shot, Coleen. If only those walls could talk, would like to know a little history of this building.

What a shame to lose this bit of history. A very nice image though. The hazy background gives it a ghostly feeling.

Quick, call Mike Holmes from the TV show Holmes on Homes, he will make it right!

Nicely seen Coleen, too bad someone didn't do something years ago.

That is so sad that it is just about ready to topple. Wish someone had cared!
