Castries, St. Lucia, in the Windward Islands

This picture is in contrast to the busy days at sea. It shows "Quebec" at dusk quietly resting on the placid waters between the dark and, to northerners, mystery laden tropical hills. The little bay is the harbour of Castries, St. Lucia, in the Windward Islands, 14 degrees north of the Equator and across St. Lucia Channel from the French Island of Martinique.

My memories not perfect but I served on the Quebec from 1952 commissioning to just before her scrapping. from Canada to half the the world ,including the infamous Mainbrace with its UFO sitings and the squadrons getting messed up due to weather. Anyway I now live in Washington State USA in a little town called Sequin (pronounced Sqim) and you have my e mail.

Hello. Do you have any other information on the Quebec? I recently purchased this exact picture here in Victoria, I'm pretty sure it's original - the frame looks old and is from a place in Victoria called " The Little Gallery". Also found out that she was sold for scrap in June 1956 Thanks
