Suspiro de Cherimoya
The name originates from the Quechua word chirimuya, which means "cold seeds," because the plant grows at high altitudes and the seeds will germinate at higher altitudes.
Mark Twain called the cherimoya "the most delicious fruit known to men."
Suspiro = sigh
Suspiro de Chirimuya is a Spanish influenced dessert due to the presence of Dulce de leche (condensed milk) which was derived from the Spanish Blancmange. The bottom layer is made of dulce de leche that has been enriched with egg yolks. The top layer consists of meringue made with port wine. "It is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman".
