Jelly fungus (Neobulgaria pura)

Found this odd looking cluster on a log. I was not sure what it was, but thanks to Pbaser, Ulla Kruys, I now know it is Neobulgaria pura. Thank you, Ulla! Please visit Ulla's great nature photo galleries at: http://www.pbase.com/ubs86tk/profile

Looks like a slimey we had back in the school in the 1975's. :-) Very interesting structure. Good that you got some help from another pbaser. That's why pbase is such a great place to exchange knowledge and fun. Very well seen, Christine. V

A great macro of what may be Neobulgaria pura, a jelly fungus.

A fine macro, but I have nothing to say about its rather scary model. V

What a neat find! I don't think it's a slime mold. I've never seen anything like this. How big is it?
