I’m afraid there is no clever plan involved; here is what I do with the most important part is step 3 :-) 1. Use manual exposure and get desired background exposure 2. Adjust the flash power/distance to the subject for the aperture set in step 1 3. Play around a bit till it looks right or the subject gets bored.

But then again Klevis,, this is a little like looking into how they make sausage,,maybe I will be happier with the end product instead of seeing the whole process, mmmm, I don't know

I was kind of hoping for this, a backstage view of your setup. We have been looking at so many of your wonderful shooting results, now it's time to learn from how you do it. This is a start. Would it be to much to ask if you could provide us website with a the hole story?
