About a half an hour before full low tide, this rail came down from the reeds into the water and proceeded to take a short bath. It then climbed up on a bent, partially horizontal reed and groomed itself.

In this shot, the rail is going up in the air before plunging its head underwater during its brief but vigorous bath..
