Capture the moment

I went back to favourite spot on Sunday hoping to capture the full moon above Morven, so spent some time learning about the moon position phases etc and yes it would be there, imagine my disappointment it was about a quarter of the size it was the day before (why does it do that?) and as I arrived what had been a cracking morning took on a decidely nasty turn. The water was even higher than the previous day and even my water proof socks wern't going to help! So setting up tripod in a less than optimal position required a constant changing of filters and re-alignment as the light went through a myriad of changes in rapid time. For a fleeting moment as clouds descended the sun broke across the reeds and trees at the edge of the loch, of course the SLR was pointing in totally the wrong direction, so out with the point & squirt. I managed to capture two shots before the light was gone. I am beginning to think of adopting the fishmans strategy of have two tripods/rods set up!

It's those waterproof socks, Chris....they're slowing you down!!! Fine shot regardless of whichever tool you used :)

Ooo....this is excellent though Chris! The contrasts in the light are wonderful, and the richness of the colours exceptionally pleasing on the eye...well done for having the P&S with you!
