A young European Herring Gull (Larus argentatus) found it's destiny in a floating fishing lure, a lost wobbler, still having a 15m long torn-off line attached.
The line had rolled up around its leg, and the wobbler's two triple-hooks had also hooked into its foot (note the lure on its foot). If looking closely,
you can even see the rest of the tight line in front of its breast and beak, still fastened to the bottom in the other end. A grim and painful death for sure,
wrapped in a sharp line, with barbed hooks sunken into its flesh, and on top of all that just being able to circle around on the water surface
as far as the line allows. I guess it struggled here for a while, until pain, cooling and famine finally took it's toll in the end... :-(
