The small Draxlaste farm where we stayed, is run by the elderly (but very fit) couple in the picture, and their son & daughter-in-law. They have a few cows and sheep, ducks and chicken. Here they are shovelling manure into a wooden bow which is attached to the hoist the lady is operating here, which transports the manure up the very steep slope of the nearby pasture. Their son is up there and positions a flap on the hoist wire where he wants the manure to be deposited. When the box hits this it stops and the base drops down to release the manure which will be spread over the pasture.
