Once classified as Armillariella mellea, a series of studies in the '70's and 80's
provided convincing evidence that more than one Honey mushroom existed. At least four
of the eight named Honey mushrooms occur in the Pacific Northwest. A. nabsnona,
A. ostoyae, A. gallica and A. sinapina. (Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest - Steve Trudell & Joe Ammirati)
EDIBLE BUT WITH CAUTION AS IT CAN CAUSE GASTRIC UPSET!
