Thanks! The sky is deep blue because 1) the weather was perfect (cold and dry), 2) I indeed used a polarizing filter and the sun was on my right side (90° angle gives the max. effect) and 3) I exposed for the bright, white snow.

It's very easy to get a good exposure with the 7i. If you are not usind a flash, the electronic view finder (EVF) gives you a very good WYSIWYG preview - you can see the color balance and tonal range even before you take the photo.

Give it a try: select manual exposure mode and increase or decrease the shutter speed until the EVF looks fine. Try to make the (preview) image as bright as possible without blowing the highlights. This method works especially well in situations where automatic exposure systems are easily fooled - snowy landscapes are a good example. I bet you'll learn the trick in a couple of hours.

great shot! I am curious how you get the white snow exposed correctly and still have such a blue sky.. have you adjusted the white balance and used a polorizer?? I am new to my 7i and am still learning... again, you have great pictures posted here!
