Bearded Fireworm IMG_4900.jpg

Another do not touch species!! They look like a cross between a caterpillar and a centipede. The bristles also are extremely brittle. If touched they will break off readily and the fragments will lodge in the skin of whatever touched them. The common name Fireworm refers to the burning sensation caused by the venom.
