This is either a Deer Mouse or a White-footed Mouse; the two species are difficult to distinguish in the field, and must be identified in the hand.

This extremely cute individual is not truly "wild". C. Lewis and I watched a family release him into the park and followed him to this tree which he promptly began to climb.
